What’s it like being called “Sir” or “Ma’am” for the first time??

WEIRD! haha I had fun with it yesterday and gave some kids a hard time but I couldn't keep a straight face. I feel like they shouldn't be calling me ma'am because I was just in their shoes!

The Swearing-In Ceremony is starting right now. I have a t-zo view so I can see them all neatly lined up (that is until they start marching ;)).

haha, you would do that ash. I'm on leave right now, so I haven't experienced that thrill yet...but come August 2012 will fear me! bwwhahaha!

Not really...I'll probably be the guy that they never greet properly or are that stract while talking to...I've never been real hard about stuff like that in other things I've done (although getting saluted during Ops was kind of cool).

redhead
Do you know what flight Buckaroo is in? I think I saw her with a red lanyard (hard to tell for sure if it was her!) so that would put her in Flying Tigers. Let me know if you can.
Thanks from a worried mom

Txtwinmom could be flying Tigers could be Barbarians. I used to have trouble with the webguy pix becuase the red and orange were kinda close depending on the lighting. You should try and call the AOG I believe they can tell you.

If it was red, then it will be Flying Tigers (my basic squadron!). If she's in D-Flight, then she'll be in 24, my 4-dig year squadron, and one of the best squads in the wing in my opinion).

According to AOG she's in Aggressors (I didn't get which flight). So, I suppose I need to go back to kindergarten and learn my colors again!

Don't worry txtwinmom! I'm sure you are feverishly searching through the zillions of pictures and it's really hard to see through teary eyes! I keep telling myself they're in good hands and no news is good news....chin up mom! We're all here for you! :) :) :)

Yeah, I'm so sorry guys! I'm trying to keep an eye out because I see all your kids from my window all day, but it's kind of hard to distinguish the colors. :(

Looks like Buckaroo will be relearning my name if she's in Aggressors! :)

Falcons, remember seeing my last year in your basic and how stract you were. Now you understand how wierd it felt to me and why it cracked me up so much! :)

I think this year I'll randomly walk around the chapel and see how fast the Basics run out of the way when they see my rank. :) Muahaha!

haha, wow, you're so cruel hornet. But I thought EMT's were only techs...although most basics would still probably fear that too.

EMTs have no rank.

Hope my rank comment did not come off as haughty. Definately didn't mean it that way! I just remember staying far away from chevrons and bars as a basic/4 dig.

Hornetguy,
We would never think you haughty. Buckaroo is indeed in Aggressors - C, I think that puts her in Cerberus for the academic year.

Twinmom, they technically go by "Dogs of War" now, but most people still know Cerberus too.

...interesting...

Cerberus is the "old school" name. Virtually everyone goes with "Dogs of War" (the current official name).

...although one of my friends (who used to be in CS-03) always refers to it as Cerberus. But they're right, usually it's the old school name.

Thanks for the heads up, don't want to be "old school".
I suppose that's better than Hell Hounds, which is what Cerberus is from Greek mythology.
Are there squadron pins that reflect the "Dogs of War"?

They still use the Cerberus patch that was introduced in '77, it's just that the "official name" of the squadron was recently changed.
