Topic is bedding. More specifically: sheets.

What size works best for the beds in Gtown's dorms? Do they have your usual extra long twin mattresses? Or is a regular twin a better fit?

twin extra long fits perfectly, stick w/ that and you'll be good.

are the mattresses decent enough to sleep in? no need to buy one, right?

^Good question^. When i stayed in Harbin two summers ago, the mattresses were these cold, plastic covered slabs of who knows what. I'm not planning on buying a mattress but it's nice to know what I'm gonna have to deal with lol.

They still are!:(

Pick up one of those egg crate foam mattress pads - they're not easy to find in extra long - the bookstore has them (but they cost more than they should there).

Go with the egg crate pad. SO worth it. I got a twin XLong at a Target somewhere in Maryland.

so...egg crate over feather bed?

Just something to bring to your attention- Darnall Hall has normal, non-XL twin beds. XL twin sheets do NOT fit them. However, I heard that Darnall is to be renovated this summer, so I'm not sure if the beds will change or not. But just so you all know, this year the beds were regular twin size. ;)

The beds are pretty comfortable, but do get a mattress pad. Everyone gets one just to make it more comfortable. Seriously I knew one person that didn't have a mattress pad. And yeah, extra long sheets expect for darnall.

Darnall does not have extra long mattresses, I think it is the only freshamn dorm that does not and dorm assignments come out pretty late
