Question for a current UCSD student.

I just got accepted as a transfer student to Revelle college today and I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on its pros and cons? Also this college was my first choice!

the revelle part of campus is the suckiest part of campus next to muir. the dorms in the general area look dirty. a girl even got raped in the revelle parking lot not too long ago. dirty, ugly, seedy part of campus.

a girl also jumped off pac hall (also in revelle) my freshman year and a boy shot himself in the matthews (revelle) apartments my sophomore year.

other than that, revelle rocks. and proton, the OP is a transfer student – i think their dorms are by RIMAC.

you’ll probably be exempted from most of your GE requirements since you’re a transfer and entering with a sufficient amount of credits, which leads me to wonder why they assign transfer students a college at all. most of the “college” memories are based on the dreaded writing sequences and dorm life, which will be somewhat different for you. in the end, you’re going to identify yourself as a UCSD student, because nobody outside of the school really cares which college you were in.

Don’t worry Revelle is not bad  and it’s not that shady. If you’re a transfer it REALLY doesn’t matter what college you’re in, since you won’t be living there or taking most of its GEs.
