Question for Admissions Daniel...or other well informed CCers

I am currently a junior, and am looking at JHU's IR program. With some schools there is a difference in how difficult it is to be admitted into this program. Is Johns Hopkins similar to these schools in this respect? Is it easier to get into the IR program? Easier? Any ideas on this would be helpful. I am also planning on applying ED if that is important. Thanks to everyone in advance!

When you apply to Johns Hopkins you are not applying for admission into a specific major (with the sole exception of the BME program). Therefore in the admissions review process all applicants are held to the same standards. One's area(s) of interest is important in the review process but there are not different admit rates for specific majors.

The International Studies major is the most popular undergraduate major at Hopkins but one's chances for admission are not harder nor easier because of their interest in that program of study.

Hopkins does not admit to schools nor programs like many other colleges and universities, because we want our students to have freedom in selecting from any of our majors/minors after enrollment.

Ok. Thank you very much for the input!
