How hard is it to switch majors within colleges? Will I have to waste a semester of class?

I applied as polisci but now want to do their pre business econ major.

Will i have trouble dealing with the departments or anything?

depends on the department

as far as i know bus econ is a hard major to get into. my roommate used to be a pre bus econ major and the requirement is definitely more rigorous than poli sci.

this question would probably be better answered by the department.

Generally almost all the majors in the college of LS aren't that hard to switch into except for the impacted ones like biz econ and psychobio.. etc; don't know them all. Engineering, however, is in a totally different school and is much harder to switch into, although switching out of it is not a problem.

As long as you're switching majors in L&S, the only problems that arise are when you want to do an impacted major (like bizecon.) However, even entering an impacted major is not terrible as long as you maintain a good GPA in the pre-reqs.
