Where do you guys keep your instruments? In your dorm rooms? I have a lot of instruments I'd want to keep up in college, but I'm worried about security and such because there's always the possibility that my roommate would forget to lock the door, etc., and some of these instruments are extremely valuable.

my son leaves his string instrument in a locker in the Baldwin Building between rehersasals. He also sometimes has an instrument in his dorm closet with the goal of locking doors. The Orchesta is quite a treat

You can check out a locker in Biddle, the music building that is right next to Baldwin (where a lot of ensembles rehearse). I lived very close to Baldwin as a freshman, so I just kept my trumpets with me in my room and would walk about 1 minute to Baldwin for rehearsal.

So Biddle is a secure place to leave it?

It's a university building - you need a duke card to get in after hours (which also means you can practice at 3 am if you want). They're combination lockers - it's plenty safe.
