I am going to stanford for the CS masters program and I want to know how heavy is the courseload at stanford.

so my questions are:

how hard is the CS courses overall?

is it possible to take more than 4 courses in a quarter?

how many courses do you take per quarter usually?

can you name several courses that are considered "killer course"?

what are the courses that shouldn't be taken in the same quarter?

Thanks in advance.

*how hard is the CS courses overall?
The intro series are pretty easy (106a/b) I haven't taken 107, 108 but those are a lot harder. Nothing seems "impossibly" hard though. You will have to work, it's just like any other college.

*is it possible to take more than 4 courses in a quarter?
4 Courses? Yes ... you can take a few 3 unit courses... 4 CS classes might be overdoing it - TOO much work.

how many courses do you take per quarter usually?
4 ~17-19 units

can you name several courses that are considered "killer course"?
CS 221 AI, CS 143(?) Operating systems, CS108 (OOP)
I think 221 is probably the hardest, the others are required and I don't think they are THAT bad from what i've heard

what are the courses that shouldn't be taken in the same quarter?
Well obviously the ones that are pre-reqs for each other.
but other than that you should be fine freshmen year there really aren't many hard freshman classes in CS. Although from what I hear Physics 60 series is really hard, Math 50h series looks hard too. I think CS103X is very hard as well.
So i guess don't take any of those paired with any of the following :106X, 107,108 etc.

Thanks in advance.
your welcome
