Question for current students

What do you know about CHM 201 General Chem I and CHM 303 Organic Chem I w/Biological Emphasis? How difficult are they? What's the courseload like?

Any and all advice would be appreciated!

Umm... bump?

What's your background in chemistry?

I've taken honors and AP courses with a 5 on the exam.

then youd probably be fine in orgo, but if you're worried about it, take another class and take orgo sophomore year. Orgo doesn't really need more than a basic knowledge of gen chem .My personal advice would be to not take 201, as its a relatively easy class, with a boring lecture that takes a lot of time, and a relatively hard curve. Better to take a class where youd learn something. You have very few classes at princeton, its the best to make the most of it.

Well I'm in a little different situation. I'm going to be a high school senior this year, but I have the opportunity to take a chem class at Princeton, and those are the only two that fit my schedule. I'm afraid orgo will have really difficult material and that'll make it harder than gen chem despite its harsh curve. Oh and I'm not getting college credit for this class, so even if I took orgo I'd probably have to take a placement exam next year in college to pass it, but I'd only have one semester of orgo under my belt.
