Well, that means that nothing is noted on the permanent record, but the threat is that if you don’t keep your nose clean, the paperwork comes out of the drawer and gets noted in the file.

Just in case someone thought I was making this stuff up, here you go
[Groesbeck High School Athletics](http://www.groesbeck.k12.tx.us/AthleticsHS.htm)

momof3sons- 500 murders in the county?. That would be entire population of several West Texas counties.

I have also read the posts that say that NHS is not worth it, so she should certainly not worry if the suspension affects her acceptance. However, more importantly I think that the student or her parents should still check to insure that the suspension was removed from her record. I am not sure how many college applications ask about suspensions, but I know that UVA does. When my son was applying to UVA I was concerned because he had gotten an “in school” suspension in 9th grade for building a snowman on the roof of his school. I was not sure if this “counted” as a suspension. When asked, our guidance department informed me that they only report out of school suspensions.

So my advice is that she should definately find out what is on her permanent record. It would be awful if it affected her college acceptances.

D never joined as far as I know, and was accepted at great schools.
