how many classes do typical seniors take a semester?

in an 8 period day...4 or 5 meaningful classes...1 meaningless period of gym, and another one for music...and 1 period off for lunch...spanish is optional...

I have block scheduling so my schedule will be next year

3 meaningful classes (AP and Honors) per semester
Alternating Gym and Choir all year

I have block scheduling, too. All of my classes are pretty serious, aside from (hopefully!!) my math..I'm taking AP Lit, AP Gov, H. French V, AP French, H. Anatomy, H. Newspaper (all year, and I'm the editor-in-chief), and Trigonometry..

Block scheduling...yuck.

Yeah..I thought so too at first, but now I can't really imagine getting anything done in class in 45 minutes as opposed to an hour and a half..

8 pd day...2 meaningful classes, rest are blow-offs (no more APs or honors to take, besides the 2 I am, so plenty of electives, etc.)

7 periods.

If in IB, you get one elective. If not, just graduate with your required ourses and you're good to go.

Many juniors/seniors opt to take classes at our nationally recognized local community college (like 5 mins from school) so some highschoolers don't spend much time in the actual highschool and can fit in more/less classes depending on their work ethic/requirements for graduation.

9 periods
8 classes

Our senior year is usually 4 electives and required english and social studies, so 6.

i go to a private christian school. (one period a day we do not have, and tuesdays and fridays we dont have 2 of the classes.)
a period: bible class
b period: government/econ
c period: dance
d period: study hall
e period: english 12
f period: calc
g period: weight training

oh its so pretty diverse?
coz where i come from like 99% people have 5 classes for the whole year (we have to take subjects for the whole year)...

but all of the classes are serious (orchestra, choir and stuff like that are done after school or before school)

3 real classes, 1 meaningless class and two free periods for me.

First semester, I had a real class schedule. This semester consists of chess competitions, The Matrix Triology, MASH: The Complete Second Season, poker, and Spanish soap operas.

ahhh. rot is my brain.

In my school it's six classes.

At my school in the IB program it's 7 classes, including TOK which finished in January. So after January it's only 6.

Six periods and classes per day, some take an optional 7th period (like 1%).

I go to a very small school so i had 3 meaningful classes (spanish, statistics, and physics), Band, then 3 periods of co-op (basically, if you have a job you get to leave early). I ran out of classes to take!

I'm a horrible senior....but i've taken 9 classes/year (max available...classes scheduled during lunch) for soph. and junior so I don't feel so bad. This year it's one AP course, math, gym, and 3 other meaningless courses tucked in there.

I'm actually going all out senior year... 9 classes. I'm taking AP French Literature, AP Macroeconomics, AP Calc BC, AP Chemistry, AP English, AP Government, Civics/ Government, Gym and German IV.
