Seeing that we are in an international program and on the road to get an international diploma, I am curious to see if any of us are applying outside the states. Is anyone?

We have a little less than a hundred IB seniors at our school, and none of them are applying outside the states...40% of us, I think, will end up at University of Washington. lol. I was thinking about it myself at the start of my college search, but my parents would never let me go. :(

Where are you looking at?

I am not applying outside the states either haha. You guys have a lot of seniors compare to my school where there is only 13 of us total. I really want to go to a university in England but I don't think I could afford it. Oh well, there is always grad. school and doctoral study.

If you received the diploma, do you think it would go to waste?

Haha, well I'm a Canadian applying to the US, so technically I'm taking advantage of the "international" aspect by applying outside my own country? Not sure if that really counts though :P I considered applying to the UK but was turned off by the earlier deadlines (terrible reason I know) and the early specialization over there.

I'm applying both to colleges in the US and England.

@ John: No, I don't think the diploma is a waste...I feel like it's a symbol of how much effort we put into our high school education, y'know? And I'm sure the admissions people realize that as well...And we've been taught by amazing teachers and been in classrooms where everyone wouldn't just settle for just putting in the minimum effort. And what with the extended essay (I did mine on biology) and all the internal assessments, I feel a little more prepared for college. Sort of. I don't know...but I would make the same decision again if I had the choice. :)

(And it's kind of cool, too...."Oh yes, I am a IB diploma scholar." lol.)
