Question for ILVS majors or CMS minors

I've asked questions here about film at tufts before, but no one with much experience could answer...

To anyone who is studying some film at Tufts through the ILVS major or CMS minor:

How strong are the film courses? If you love movies, is it sufficient? Does Tufts help you find high-class internships?

Are there plenty of opportunities to make student films? Are there film cameras, or just digital?

The thing is, I love Tufts, but I need a school that can satisfy my film cravings (I don't want to go to a film school, just fyi).

Thank you very much.

I am not an ILVS major nor a CMS minor, but I study IR/English as majors, and Art History as a minor -- all subjects which basically encompass those two fields of study you're asking about. There are excellent classes about post-modernism, Hitchockian films (with a gender twist; see: Prof. Edelman), German Expressionism, etc. If you want a liberal arts education, come to Tufts. The film student facilities won't be those of NYU or USC, but your overall education as a cultured filmmaker will be far richer here.
