I have found out about College Confidential while doing a search in Google on BS/MD program. After that, i got hooked, but gained mountains of knowledge on many colleges, SAT/ACT preparations, applying to colleges....ah, the list goes on and on. And, I owe it all to CC for registering individual CC sites onto google...

Actually, Google mostly does its own thing - they will spider everything in sight and put it in their index. They claim to have over 8 billion pages indexed now. (That's a good reason to be cautious in what you post, or in what you allow others to post - not just at CC, but everywhere. If it's on the web, Google will eventually vacuum it up.)

Thanks for the kind comments, chicagonobel, and you are welcome, silver_wavez. :)

Folks, what babybird said is why it's a good idea to be careful about where you post. It's possible for potential employers, potential suitors and for college admissions officers to Google you. I have heard of people who didn't get jobs or dates due to things they had posted on on-line boards. There probably also are people who ended up in jail because of such postings.

Wow, I made this thread more than two weeks ago, but meh for reviving it.

"and for college admissions officers to Google you"
Can this work in your favor? I mean, does college adcom actually have TIME to check online posts? LoL.
