Question for NRDMOM

I came across this thread of yours from last year: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-alabama/1343875-cbhpers-parents-such.html

I was wondering if your S ended up taking those two back-to-back classes. If my S decides to participate in CBH, he has the same potential schedule issue - he is currently registered for a UH155 seminar that meets on Mondays from 3:30-6 in Nott, and he would need to be in CBH class in LLoyd at 6. I know the buildings are right next door to each other so that’s good, but I figured I would check and see if your S did it and how it worked out.

Thanks!

Hey, Lisa -

NRDSON ended up adjusting his schedule, so not an issue. I asked him for his opinion about your concern and he felt quite confident that as long as your son explains his situation to Darren, there should not be a problem. Just make sure he does it ASAP. And then he repeated, “ASAP”.

Rumor has it that Darren is “sometimes” late to class himself. :-)

My daughter had back to back classes with CBH and had no problems.

Thanks! He may drop that class, but it’s good to know he can keep it if he wants.

My D did have the opposite problem with a class directly following her afternoon CBH class. Darren sometimes ran over and would be late to her following class. In retrospect, she wouldn’t have scheduled a class for that time. We’d been warned about it but she really wanted to take the class.

^^ Similar issue here. D had a math class in Lloyd right after CBH and Darren did sometimes run over. We knew this ahead of time (it’s in the comments at Rate My Professor) but this was D’s first choice math section. Fortunately there were a couple other CBHers in her math class so that she wasn’t the only one coming in late, and the prof was apparently OK with it.
