Question For Packing

So I’m beginning to pack, but I’m worried that I’ll overpack and everything won’t fit in my closet. Is it recommended to just pack clothes that’ll suit the weather until Thanksgiving Break? Is it usually hot and humid until then? Thank you!

Depends on the location but I expect evenings can get chilly soon so I would pack light jackets, sweaters, etc.
We packed everything. Long sleeve shirts and long pants, quarter-zip sweater, rainjacket/windbreaker, fleece jacket, light water-repellent jacket, shaggy lined hoody, hiking boots, light gloves, ski gloves, beanie hat. So DS is set even if there is a storm/snow soon. He can layer up and is good for winter. We couldn’t fit his snow boots in bags so I’ll bring them in October. They won’t be needed till Thanksgiving, I think.
We will get a heavy winter coat during October family visit days. I would have sent one but DS outgrew his old one and we couldn’t find a winter snow jacket in August.

We did about the same thing - sent all clothes and the boots are there too. He’s got a puff jacket that should carry him into winter, but will need a heavier coat that we will take care of in October or November.

I was told it will only be hot for two weeks (in Northern Mass), so be prepared!

Hot and humid until Thanksgiving at Deerfield??? Um, no. You won’t need snow boots or a ski jacket/winter coat until December, but you’ll certainly need fall clothes. Unless you already know the size of your room and closet, I would recommend strongly against bringing everything you need for the whole year. You’ll be a lot happier in your dorm room if it isn’t completely cluttered up with stuff you don’t need.

Even by Fall Parents Weekend in Oct, you’ll be shivering.

You may not need your ENTIRE winter’s wardrobe in Sept, but u will need SOME cool weather clothes & outerwear, in reserve.

Just brought two fifty pound suitcases into Lawrenceville… Idk what even fills those up but somehow, some way…

@payn4ward @fullofbs @soxmom @GMTplus7 thank you so much! I just finished packing and all of that really helped!
