Hello, I know many of you guys have sons or daughters the same age as me (17) or around my age. I just wanted to get your opinions on this topic. I tried very hard for a big test (ACT) but did not receive a good score. I was able to increase my score 4 points but when I took it again my score went down. They completely ignored the fact my score went up on the 2nd test, and just focused on my score going down on the 3rd test. They do not believe me when I told them I tried my hardest to improve my score, which I very much did, just because it went down on the 3rd time Would you believe your child in this situation?
It is typical for ACT/SAT scores to fluctuate a bit. I am sure they are disappointed that it didn’t go up.
As a parent, I would would wonder:
- Do you understand that ACT scores can lead to scholarships that make school less expensive.
- ACT scores lead to what colleges you can get into
- Did you do anything differently between ACT 2 and 3? Did you study ? Did you say you would study but not study?
