Question for SCEA applicants...

I applied to under SCEA for Stanford (which I probably won't get admitted) using the Common App., and I had Harvard as one of my other colleges that I was thinking about applying to. A few nights ago, the Admissions Office from Harvard e-mails telling me to apply because they are "looking forward to reading your application and learning more about me [you]". Did any of you SCEA applicants receive an e-mail from Harvard (if Harvard is another college you're interested in)? Or is this totally B.S. to recruit more students or a sincere e-mail? Should I apply? Thanks! :D

It's a recruitment email. They sent out 70,000 of them.

i got one from Duke. they are nothing special.

i got one from Duke too!!!
twinzzzz

lolz i got one from harvard...

they mean nothing at all

I've actually gotten multiple from Harvard. O.o

a bunch of mediocre universities (St Johns, Hofstra, Northeastern) have been sending a lot of "priority apps" to me lately, telling me they'll waive application fees, recs, and whatnot. like, once a day, each. annoying as heck.

yeah, harvard seems to be the one "top tier" school that's sending out lots and lots of e-mails.

i've gotten about 10 college e-mails a day for the past two years (ANNOYING) and the vast majority of them go straight into trash. hey, at least they're not wasting paper...

^lol yeah true that.

if you read the email they said they sent it because they noticed we had started our application on the commonapp site. the reason the OP and whoever else got the email is because they have at least began or saved some part of the harvard application, be it the supplement or even the selection for the round of admission they plan to apply for (which of course is only regular decision).
