Hi, I'm applying this fall to UC Davis under a bio major. the problem is I got 2 C's already in my general chemistry classes when assist.org says this.

Transfer students MUST complete courses comparable to the following UC Davis
courses with a GPA of at least 2.5 for each of the three groups of courses.
Courses must be taken for a letter grade, with no grade less than "C":

Mathematics 16A,B,C or 17A,B,C or 21A,B,C
Chemistry 2A,B,C
Biological Sciences 1A or 1B or 1C OR
Biological Sciences 2A or 2B or 2C
(Series completion highly recommended)

i plan on getting A's & B's for the rest of my science classes (6 more). so am i already disqualified from making a TAG? can i not even get in anymore? :( oh and i will finish all my prep classes before i transfer if that makes a difference

input is much appreciated

its says you need a gpa of 2.5 for each of the 3 groups of courses. so if there are 3 chem courses, and youve already done 2 with a 2.0 gpa (the 2 Cs) then i think you would need like an A+++ in your third chem course to get that 2.5 and still qualify for tag. but even with an A+++ i dont think you can make a 2.5…so sorry, i think you dont qualify for tag.

anybody else?

so if i apply w/o a tag am i guarenteed not to get in then?

any more opinions?

i wouldnt say ur not going to get in, you still have a chance. in fact, i would still apply for a tag on the off chance they let it slide or something.

I know this is an old post. But what do you think if I got 2 C’s in general chemistry and then 2 B’s in organic chemistry. Do you think Davis will overlook the fact that it isn’t a 2.5 between the two chems because of my improved grades in o chem? Please let me know! Thanks!

i got a C in both my calc classes a C in one part of gen chem and a B in the other. did not take organic chem. A in bio…

i applied this year and was waitlisted for animal science and i didnt tag. so you have hope?

did you tag and not get approved or did you just not tag? thanks so much! you don’t know how much relief i have felt after reading your post haha

nope i didnt tag. kinda wish i did though haha
