<p>If some random guy approached me with a straight face and delivered all these lines with the utmost sobriety, I would probably be very confused, very unnerved, and very creeped out. </p>
<p>Now, if he was still a random guy, but laid it on with obvious cheesiness and humor, I'd be more liable to think he was annoying but ultimately harmless. </p>
<p>If he was a friend, I'd just kick him. </p>
<p>If he was a boyfriend, I'd shut him up. Probably in a nice way. :) </p>
<p>I just can't stomach undiluted cheesiness. The only way pick-up lines could even vaguely work for me is if I know the guy and they're delivered as a way of affectionately teasing me. Even at best, then, it's still teasing. From someone I don't know, pick-up lines are faintly annoying at best and creepy at worst.</p>
<p>I'd be more flattered if you complimented my razor wit and dazzling repartee. :rolleyes: My boyfriend gets to call me beautiful, but that's because I know it's only part of what attracted him.</p>

<p>i wonder if the guys ever considered leaving the pick up lines out. why not approach a girl and say:
"hey my name is_. don't you have _ class with me?"</p>
