Random but I want to know what most of you think. If you had to choose between the two...

a girlfriend who rated about a 7/8 on the 1-10 scale (meaning she was def good looking but not a full blown bombshell) with a great sense of humor and an sweet personality

VS.

a girlfriend who was a perfect 10, but boring, snooty, full of herself.

Which would you pick? Be honest.

I'm trying to get a little insight into the male brain because to be honest it just confuses the s.h.i.t. out of me, and I figure an anonymous (spelling?) forum would be the best way to get a more honest response than asking dudes i know to their faces. lol.

This does vary based upon the individual. I know some people who would go for the 10 just for the obvious reason as well as the status amongst friends for dating someone so hot. Most would go with #1 though (including myself).

7-8 is pretty damn good. So her. Definitely.

If it's between a nice, pleasant 3-4 and a *****y 10, then it's a tougher decision. At this point in my life, neither. I may try to sleep with the 10, be friends with the 3-4, but as far as dating goes, I'd hold out for someone who I would consider good in both categories.

In all honesty - there were times I went for the model gorgeous women who were so bland and boring and stuck on themselves I could hardly stand them. I don't regret it for a second. I knew, on some level, that if I didn't go for them when I had the chance, I would never be able to be truly happy with the 7-8 great personality woman I would probably end up with (unless Natalie Portman ever answers my 278 voicemails).

So, that's probably why you see a lot of younger men / teenagers trying to prove to themselves what they can get when there isn't a big commitment attached, and a lot of older guys who could have gotten the 10 woman end up marrying far more interesting but less gorgeous (in a shallow sense) women.

I think a better question is why anyone (male or female) would want to be with someone who cared as much about looks as personality, let alone more.
