Question from an (earnest) future applicant

Guys, just a question:

My 9th grade HS transcript is peppered with some B’s, however I was still within the top 5 students in my class and my averages (even the B’s) were well above the class averages. Will this hurt me?

what's done is done. there is nothing you can do about a few B's in the past. your course of action should be to try the best you can to improve your future grades, SAT scores, and SAT II scores (if you haven't taken these tests already).

But to answer your question: The b's wont matter if Brown sees an improvement in GPA (i.e. you get straight a's your first sem. senior year). but work hard on the SATs and subject tests, and you should be fine. Ultimately, not getting into Brown will not stop you from doing what you want to do in life. Remember to keep that in mind.

I had an F in ceramics in 10th grade. Going to Brown next year.
