Question: GPA

I took some classes at a local CC during the summer preceeding my Senior Year of HS. Would these classes count as a part of my GPA (in terms of transfering)?

no. the only thing that transfers over are credits, and even those may not go through unless they authorize it. if i were you i'd contact the school directly and make sure all the work you've done will transfer over. but grades will never come with you to a new school

hey thank you

You will still be asked by some schools to provide the transcript from that school for those summer courses (they want transcripts of all college courses you've ever taken), but only as their SOP in the application process. They won't become part of your GPA.

yes they will.

if its a UC transferrable course and you are talking about california community colleges, then it will count.

If the OP's question is about the UC system, it would be best to go directly to the UC subforum here on the Transfer Board. Because a lot of things are done differently within that system when students move through the ccc system to a UC.

Similarly, if it is in another state where there are guaranteed transfer arrangements for cc or other in-state students (eg, Cornell), I would ask the question directly on that board on in a thread here with the school's name in the title.

Most of us here are talking about how it (typically) works if you transfer from one private to another or maybe from a cc to a private or some other state public.

In my situation what I mean is that I'm going to UCSD in the fall but I've taken 2 CC classes in the summer before my senior year. Now, if I wanted to transfer from UCSD to another college in the UC system or another private college anywhere else I was just wondering if those CC classes would count as part of the gpa those colleges would see.
