as a transfer, we have to resend our high school guidance counselor recs???

For one ap (U of Chicago), it wants it again. I was already accepted last year, don't they keep those things on file......

Only if the school asks for it. Yale does, but Harvard, Georgetown, and Rice, for instance, do not.

They might. Call them and ask.

UPenn says if u can't get it, a high school transcript will suffice, but does that mean it will hurt u ( i want to get in reallly badlllly), and i can get it, but its a hassle...

I do not see why an HS rec matters; try calling the admissions office and asking them. There is no harm in asking what will be detrimental to your application, and admissions officers are usually quite straightforward about that.

When I applied to Georgetown, I asked an admissions officer whether a cousin attending would provide me with a 'legacy admissions boost,' and he said 'no'; it is not as if he did not know me, since he had me personally fax a form to him which he placed in my file.

wat about the personal essay thing (can i use the same one I used for high school aps, it was really good and all proof-read)?

I would not do it; no matter how good the essay was, think about the implicit message you will be sending to admissions officers.

As a rule, which I almost always follow, if you find the act of questionable ethical value, then imagine how the admissions officer will take it.

can i write on the same topic, but a new essay..... the topic is particulary meaningful for me, and I cannot imagine writing on another topic. I just find this odd that all of these schools ask for the same personal essay question that I wrote for a freshman, like...it is their fault for asking the same question.

I am using parts of mine but am adding new stuff since the questions have changed slighty. If it is a heartbreaker and if you've never sent it to the places that you are planning on sending it - I don't see a reason why not. It is still you, just probably defined better than you could do it now under pressure and freakling out about the stupid HS recs.
I know how that goes. Trust me!
