Question: Is this selection and amount of classes okay?

I am going into my community college as a freshman. I am very new to this whole process. I talked to my counselor about what classes I need and what I should take this semester. She started asking me a couple questions; such as if I work, etc. She told me to take two clases. English which is 4 units and Math which is 5 units. This seems like a very little amount. I do not work and I think I can handle maybe one more class. Is this a good choice or should I stick with the two classes my first semester?

most definitely more. at least 4 id say

Take two more classes. A foreign language and some kind of humanity if you're not working. 9 hours is very low!

15 hours is typical.

Really? I wonder why she told me that =(

Talk to other people at your CC. It is possible that the number of hours taken varies from universities. But I strongly suspect that 9 hours is not close to enough.

At most CCs, 9 hours is not considered full time. Students generally take anywhere from 12-15 hours to be considered full time. Then you have the weirdos (like me) who take 7 class or 22 hours.

But between 12-15 hours is considered full time. Your counselor may have started you off with 2 classes because you're new, but you should probably take at least two more. You can handle it.
