What kind of stats would you need to transfer into Wharton or NYU Stern from like a maybe lower tier 2 college? My HS GPA will be something like a ~3.65 range, and my SAT should be around 2160. Now would I be set for those if I got like a 4.0 in college for a year?

I need to know this because if I have no chance of transferring into Stern or Wharton, I should make every effort to get into Stern. But if there is actually a chance, then I won't cry as much if I get rejected from Stern.

BTW, I'm a junior. Just thought you'd want to know.

Try to get into the college of your choice out of highschool, if you can't i suggest going to a community college and transferring to your top choices. Wharton is obviously going to be the hardest to get into, you'd probably need a near perfect GPA. I'm not too sure about stern. You should check out some of the great schools in california, despite your obvious resentment of the best state in the country. UCB haas is a very good business school, aim for a 3.8 (transfer admissions is only 8%) USC marshall is also a good school. Then there's other good state schools such as UMich Ross and UNC Kenan Flager. Aim for the highest GPA possible as that is where they mostly weigh their decisions on. Definitely broaden your colleges, Wharton is a reach for anybody and i'm not sure about how hard getting into Stern is. I also hear NYU is stingy with the financial aid, so don't expect much.
