I'm thinking of applying EA to Yale. I also have a chance to receive a very prestigious award, of which I would be notified in late November. I would not be surprised if this award is the difference between acceptance and rejection. Supposing I did receive this award, would admissions officers take note of it if I were to write a letter informing them of it? -- Or would they ignore it entirely just because it wasn't on the original application?

if the note gets to them in time, they will consider it.

Who's Who is not prestigious, silly!

is that the award lumber?

Who's Who, Future Leaders, or National Honor Roll are not prestigious at all. Don't even include them if you are one of those.

Im sure it is a prestigious award, don't listen to Bananas. At the very least you would have it for regular decision (if you got deferred).
