Is General Engineering what UIUC places people who didn't get their first choice major in?

No. It's my future major. Gen. engineering is a form of Industrial/Systems engineering which deals with business and engineering. It is not a fall-back major. It just has a poor name choice.

Do you what kind of jobs people with a BS in GE get?

I know someone who majored in general engineering at UIUC and was hired as a securities trader on Wall Street in NY. UIUC has the top general engineering program, so they pretty much just saw his major and that his gpa was higher than 3.0 and they hired him.

You know those crazy guys in wacky shirts that you see yelling at each other, trading stocks? That's a securities trader. Doesn't have a lot to do with general engineering, but if you're any good at math, you can be making $500,000 your second year out of college as a securities trader.

Do you know what other schools have top GE programs? Also, does GE require a lot more math than like other engineering majors such as Comp. Engineering?

Sorry couldn't edit. But I wanted to know, amongst the following: Comp. Engineering, General Engineering, and Industrial Engineering majors, who gets the most ibanking offers at UIUC?
