Is U of M's admissions system a rolling admissions one? If so, when can we begin sending in our application? Also, if U of M practices rolling admissions is there no EA/ED/RD?

Thank you!

Yes, U of M does have rolling admissions and you can send in your application for 2009 any time you are ready to now.

The University of Michigan also has non-binding Early Action, and with that you are free to apply to any other colleges you like. (Unless you apply to a different college that has restrictive/"single choice" early action OR you apply to another college early decision, in which case you are bound by that second college to not apply to another college early action/early decision.)

So if I were to apply under rolling admissions, how long would it take for me to find out the decision?

(I'm assuming you're applying as a freshman...)

That depends on when you apply. If you can get your entire application (that includes the application, as well as your transcript, teacher and counselor recommendations, and test scores) postmarked by November 1, you'll have a decision of either admit, defer to regular review, or deny, released by December 24.

Anytime after that (note the deadline is February 1), it'll usually take AT LEAST 4 but anywhere up to 12 weeks from the time your application is processed and marked complete. Decisions are typically released every other week on a Friday.

All right, thank you!
