Does the Naval Academy send a letter in response when you mail in your acceptance to the offer of appointment? I am asking because I mailed mine in a couple of weeks ago.. maybe three, and I have not heard anything. It's kind of starting to worry me.

I called USNA Admissions, and the lady I spoke to said I'd be able to find out on my candidate information page... is that true?

Not that I could ever find at least. I didn't get a receipt that they got my acceptance, but at CVW, my dad went to the admissions office and asked and they showed him my file. Oh, you can get kind of a receipt if you sent an original birth certificate because they will send that back. Don't worry.

Same here...the birth certificate was returned. They can't return it if they didn't get it!?! No changes have appeared on the candidate info page. It took at least 4-5 weeks I would say before the birth certificate was returned.

They stated in the appointment docs that starting in April (if you accepted) you would be able to logon to the CIS for accepted candidates. It is a different website than the CIS that you are using now (and URL was stated in the docs, I believe). Be patient...'hurry up and wait' as they say :)

Plus remember the Academy sends out the Permit to Report Forms in April. If you have accepted an appointment and do not have these forms by May, I would then be worried and start making some calls.

we got nothing as well...although since the Dental Office wanted a panoramic x-ray, I did send that return receipt requested and it took 3 1/2 weeks to get that return receipt....

we also got our birth certificate returned -

Permit to Report packets usually arrive sometime around the first week in April. You will have more than enough forms to deal with once those arrive. Enjoy the quiet before the storm. :)

As per previous advice. Send everything "return receipt" as proof of delivery.

A-FRIGGIN-MEN!

I didn't send ANYTHING without a return receipt. I'd never heard of it until I applied, and after that, EVERYTHING had the little green card on it.
