I was curious if there is an average subject test score for UPenn like there is for the normal SAT. I got a 760 for Math II and 740 for Physics. I've looked at the percentiles, and it makes me a little anxious. I'm applying to the College of Engineering, and I was also curious if they look at how many years/semesters of the class you have taken. I remember having to bubble in something about it. I've only taken one semester of AP Physics C: Mechanics, so I hope that boosts my chances. I'm more worried about Math II because I took it in January, 8 months after finishing Precal.

Those scores are fine. According to Penn’s admissions officers, they essentially don’t care about your scores after they reach a certain point. While this point has never been made public (and we can’t even be positive that it exists!), we can assume that as long as you are above the bottom 25% of standardized test scores you’re fine. There are no public SAT subject test scores, but I’m fairly certain that a 760 and 740 are above the 25th percentile, and therefore, good to go.

Please don’t worry. I got so freaked out about the percentiles for the subject tests, but I don’t think they mean much. As long as you are around a 700 you should be fine? I got a likely letter for engineering, and I got a lower score on Physics (710) and a 780 on Math II (but only because I retook it). I took honors physics last year and this year I’m doing AP Physics B. A 740 after only taking one semester is fantastic, if anything that’ll help you!
