Question on BU admissions

I'm in a little bit of a predicament right now. I have to finish my BU application today because I'm leaving for a week and won't be back until after the deadline. Anyway, I wasn't ready for the additional 250-500 essay on what you want to major in and why. The thing is I only have to submit that if I'm applying to one of the accelerated programs like business school or liberal arts. So I have 2 questions I would like to ask.

1.) Does BU take that essay just as serious as the personal statement?
2.) My Sat score is 1280(1860) and my gpa is a 3.0 unweighted, 3.3 weighted with a damn good essay. Do you think I would be wasting my time applying to one of the accelerated programs instead of the School of general studies. I know that if you don't initially make it into the accelerated programs they can put you in the SGS but what are my chances percentage wise for making it into the business school right away?

Please, I need to finish this today.

bump bump bump

I don't really know a lot about BU admissions (even though I'm applying there) but I guess it comes down to if you really want to or plan on attending there in the Fall. Only bother applying to the accelerated problems if you really want to, because they do push you more and require much more work. If you don't even want to write another essay, that sort of program may not be your best option.

Thank you, can anyone give me a clue as to about what my chance is of getting into the School of Managment. If its less than 20% or so I think I'll just apply to the SGS.

bump bump bump

Not going to stop till I get a solid answer.

I imagine it does take it seriously. After all, it is an essay. And they DO count. Work hard on it. You have until Jan 2nd.
