So in explaining my predicament ~

On commonapp, my school uses Naviance to upload school documents and teacher letters of rec. One of my teachers, whom I asked for a letter of recommendation, does not use Naviance in uploading the teacher rec like the rest of the teachers at my school. So instead, my teacher gives me his rec, and I mailed out copies of his rec to whatever school I needed his letter of recommendation for (specifically for UPenn and Cornell and stony brook). ALL I PUT in the envelopes, which has my school's return address, was his letter of recommendation - which contained identification of my name and my school, nothing more.

Basically, is there any way for me to find out if admissions at each college has received his letters of rec. and identified it to exactly my common app ID? What should I do?

You should help admissions out in the sorting by sending them an email with the details of the teacher’s name and your common app ID. These schools typically have app status websites that they give you a userid and password to track your application pieces and parts.

Thanks; I recently came back to school, as break ended for my highschool, and I found out that my teacher found out properly how to use, and that he was willing to use, naviance for uploading documents. Do you think I should just ask him to upload the letter of recommendation online even though it’s past the due dates (jan 1st and jan 2nd) and I already mailed out the hard (yet hard to identify) copies?

Yes, most schools accept teacher recs after the admissions deadline, so he should upload it.

Thanks, I ended up not contacting them at all (maybe I should have?), but everything worked out because my teacher managed to upload his letter to common app and now i see all them good’old green arrows; none of the colleges have contacted me about anything so I guess it all works out
