<p>I wouldn’t say they are explicitly “harder”, but for certain very selective schools, the EA pool is overall a bit stronger (due to self selection)- so you may be competing with a more competitive pool of applicants. Typically for EA, though, it’s about the same as the RD pool in terms of chances (plus you can get deferred, which is better than being straight up rejected). </p>
<p>For ED, you generally have a better chance due to the binding contract and demonstrated interest, even if the pool is more competitive.</p>
