so this may be an obvious question, but I want to apply early action to a couple colleges and I am wondering if this means that I have to make a decision about enrolling sooner? Do early action students have an earlier deadline?
thank you for your help!

Early action does not require you to decide whether you’re going to enroll earlier in most cases. You should check the school’s website to be sure, but I doubt you’ll find anywhere with a program called “early action” that doesn’t still give you until the May 1/2 deadline.

Since early action is non-binding, schools recognize that when you hear from them, you won’t yet know all your options. It’s really mostly there so that you don’t have to wait until April for results and so that they can spread out their application reading a bit. It can also give you an edge in getting scholarships, as many of these are handed out partially based on when you applied.

great thank you!
