This may be a stupid question but should the essay have titles?

Thx for your time.

This may be a stupid question but should the essay have titles?

Thx for your time.

I didn’t put creative titles on mine; however, you’re supposed to put your name, michigan id number, and question on the top of each page.

I did, but should i put a creative title or should i just have to put diversity.

You don’t need to put a creative title. Just type the question out at the top.
You could just write “Diversity” as a title if you want. :)

I know you should come up with title for the 3rd essay , but for 1st and 2nd essay, does not putting a tittle hurt your chances?

Where does it say on the application you have to come up with a title for the 3rd essay?

I didn’t give titles to any of my essays just put my name and what topic I was doing (if appropriate) at the top.

Yeah, that’s what I did. ^

another question , does exceeding word limit on essay affect the chances, do they actually count how many words you type?

I had a big problem with exceeding the word count. My big essay was like 800 words, so I talked to an admissions counselor about it. She said that you should stick as close to the word count as possible. They don’t count the words though, so its obviously its okay if you’re like 60 words over or something. How long is yours? If it is too long the lady said the admissions person would get annoyed and that might effect your admission.

never mind actually, i changed it around and it’s now around the limit.

An admissions person from U of M came to my school and said that they dont count words and as long as it is not double the word count then it is ok. Mine was like 700 words.

that’s good to know :)
