I recently got accepted into ucsd, but not in the fall quarter. I got accepted into the winter quarter. My cousin told me that if I don't want to be behind, i should take extension courses during the fall quarter but I don't really know what that means. Does anyone know what she means by extension courses? And if i do extension courses, will that be equivalent to me being admitted into fall quarter? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Take community college courses, preferably courses that fulfill general education requirements. I know someone who was a winter admit at UCLA and several who were winter admits at UC Berkeley, they both went to community college first. That way, you're not wasting your time, but rather, saving money and getting rid of classes that aren't too important by taking GE's in community college.

I think what your cousin had in mind was enrolling in courses at UCSD via the extension program. See http://www.extension.ucsd.edu/home/index.cfm?vAction=concurrent
