Should you report unweighted or weighted GPA? If unweighted, is the base 4 or 5? It sounds less than impressive to have a W4.3/5 vs a UW4.0/4.0.
Second question, should you put both the SAT and ACT scores in common app. If you do, would you need to send both scores to all the schools your are applying? Originally, we sent only ACT score to some schools and SAT to others to take advantage of the free reports. If I put only one score, say SAT, would we now have to send the SAT scores to those schools where we only originally sent the ACT score?
Thanks.
Oh shoot, just realized I posted in the wrong forum. How do I move it?
Put the GPA that is on your transcript. Admissions officers aren’t going to look at the common app gpa anyway…they will do a careful analysis of your transcript though.
Unless the school you are applying to requires all scores, report the scores that make your app strongest. So, if that’s the ACT, you report your highest ACT composite score, plus you report your highest section scores. Note that for some schools this self reporting of test scores on the common app is all that is required…many school do not require official scores until you matriculate…so look on each school’s website so you know where you can self-report and save money, and where you have to send official scores.
And if the transcript lists both, list the weighted per the Common App instructions.
You can’t, but I did.
