<p>Do colleges look at the unweighted GPA given by the high school, or do they recalculate it. It seems like a lot of kids have taken the same amount of APs that I have, yet these people have a GPA much higher than mine (mine:4.19... others:4.3-4.4). Thanks.</p>
<p>Some schools (such as Dartmouth, I think) leave GPA as it is. Others do the calculations again. Some secondary schools don’t even give unweighted GPA! It really depends on which schools you apply to.</p>

<p>Yes. The most important part of your application is the transcript, not the GPA (as most students tend to think). </p>
