Hello, if a prospective college I am thinking of requires two years of history, could I take them in 11th and 12th grade, or do I need to take them in 10th and 11th grade? (Before applying). I am a little bit confused on the requirements. Thank you in advance.
You can take them in 11th and 12th. As long as you state that it’s planned and you will take it. I took World History in 10th then APUSH in 11th but I’m currently taking AP Macro and AP Gov. and there was no problem.
Thanks!
Also, think about what specific history classes sound more interesting to you and take those.
Ok, thanks!
Selective 4-year colleges would want to see 3 or 4 years in social science inluding US History and sometimes want to see either Global or European History.
If a college recommends certain courses, there is no expectation that they need to be completed by the time you apply.
Just double check. If they say history, then they mean history, not econ, not psych.
Ok, thanks!
