Question on "Hooks"

I don't have any "hooks" really going for me, like URM, first generation, etc. But would a small town in southern Oregon be a hook? It seems like it would be an underrepresented area, so...

Thanks. All input appreciated!

if the school you plan on going to doesn’t have to many students from Oregon then yea its a hook. Being from an unrepresented state can really help (Wyoming).

My hook is being The Hairy Lemon. ^_____^

I also have a question… Would colleges in the US still consider me as a “first generation” even though my parents went to college in the Philippines but not here in the US?

Mr. Krabs can tell you a little something about hooks:

lol, please. Unless you grew up at sea or in the desert or on one of the Poles, the place you come from is not a hook. It’s not like any adcom will hesitate to reject you just because you’re from southern Oregon.

Um, yeah, obviously if my resume is pathetic being from southern Oregon won’t help; however, geographical residence can be a, hence the name, “hook” to boost you that teency-weency bit.
