Question on how NYU GPA is calculated?

Now I am assuming that NYU is held on the typical scale:

A = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3
B = 3.0

and so on.

Now how does this correlate with the credits one has?

For example, lets say I got an "A" in a Natural Science course (4 credits), then I took Acting I (2 credits) and got an "A" there as well.

How is this calculated? Do the weights of the courses differ, depending on the credits worth of the subject?

Multiply the credits of the course with the grade on a 4 point scale. So in your example 24 + 44 = 24. Having taken 6 credits, your 4 credit course holds 66% weight.

If you got a B in Nat Sci or a 3, then 43 + 24 = 20.
Divide that by the 6 credits taken, 3.33 is your overall GPA.

Yes, the course weights differ by credits. Let’s say you got this:

A (4.0) for a 4 credit course
A (4.0) for a 2 credit course
B (3.0) for a 4 credit course
B+ (3.3) for a 4 credit course

Then you multiply each grade by Credits:
4.0 x 4 = 16
4.0 x 2 = 8
3.0 x 4 = 12
3.3 x 4 = 13.2

Then you add 16 + 8 + 12 + 13.2 = 49.2. You divide this by total number of credits (14) to get your final GPA = 3.51.

Your GPA for each semester and cumulative GPA for college are automatically calculated on Albert (in Unofficial Transcript) each semester.
