question on intended major (sciences, more specifically)

hello,
I am applying to colleges this year and intend to study chemistry in college. I was just wondering if the higher tier schools expect pepole to have done work in fields like chemistry outside of school? I have taken chem for 2 years (regular and AP), done well, got 770 chem sat II, and got a great rec from my chem teacher, but that is all I have really done in this field. I havent done any research or studies, are these expected? I have slightly better grades in math, I have been on the honors track my whole life, am now in AP, got a 790 on Math 2C, got 800 SAT math, and I am also considering economics, but I'm more set on chemistry right now. What do you guys suggest I put for my intended major, if a supplement only has room for one major?

Not expected, but it would certainly help. Say chemistry if that is your first choice, but dont fret because it is not binding in any way.
