I'm using the mutual roommate option and I have selected honors housing as one of my preferences. I have not got my honors decision yet and my room-mate has not applied for a honors program. My question is, if I do get into the honors program and get honors housing, will my room-mate also be able to get the same accomodation even though he didn't apply for a honors program?

Also, do our preferences have to be in the same order?

Thanks in advance.

"will my room-mate also be able to get the same accomodation even though he didn't apply for a honors program?"- NO

"do our preferences have to be in the same order?"- YES

I saw this on the honors housing website,

"Occasionally, students not in one of these programs, but who have outstanding academic records from other disciplines, may be considered for assignment to the honors hall. Interested students may list the honors hall as a choice once they receive a housing contract. However, most spaces are allocated to students in one of the academic honors programs."

So there is a chance rite?

technically, there is, but i have never heard anyone get it like that. Also, if your not sure you'll get honors housing, i wouldnt risk losing my roomate for that because you guys will have different hall choices and thus wont get to room together.
