Question on number of units for UC.

According to this site Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2007 - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions the average number of units of people who applied to UCLA majoring as Computer science and engineering was 125.

It is my understanding that the minimum units to transfer is 60. Am I misreading the table? Or do I really need 125 units to compete with other transferees?

just get 60 uc transferable units, meet IGETC, write a great essays, and have some ecs. Goodluck. (note: 60 semester units is = 90 quarter units at UCLA)

also do "all"of your prereqs and get A’s in them, this will make ur more competitive.

Reason that most engineering and science applicants have a high number of units is because science and math courses count for more units. To be competitive, most finish their major preparation (physics, math, chemistry, biology, etc…) in addition to completing breadth requirements (general education). Most of the time, it is not feasible to finish all of these requirements within 60 semester units (90 quarter units).
