Question on NYU Application

New York University is on the Common Application. I wasn't considering applying to NYU at all until now, and I learned that their application deadline is January 1st.

Luckily they're on the CommonApp, and my CommonApp is fully complete. Except I won't be able to ask my teachers to send recommendations, and have my school send transcripts until after winter break which will be January 3rd.

So should I still send in my CommonApp to NYU now? Will they accept my recommendation/transcripts even after the Application Deadline is over (Jan.1st)?

Also, I submitted two other applications on CommonApp. I submitted my counselor's and two teacher emails for recommendations. The info says:

[Teacher Name Here] | Teacher Assigned: 11/29/2011
Recommendation Not Started

Where it says "Not Started", does that mean that my teacher never sent the recommendation or the school hasn't looked at it? I'm worried because my teacher said she sent in the application December 1st, (and I asked her twice), but the form still says "Not Started"

Thanks for any help and input, I'm really stressed over my applications.

Don’t know about the first part of your question, but on the second half: if it says it hasn’t been started then it means the teacher has not submitted it nor begun it at all. If she said she did maybe it just didn’t go through - two of my teachers had to try multiple times to upload their letters/submit the evaluation forms because for whatever reason the site decided it didn’t want to cooperate. Best bet is to contact her directly about the situation…

Sorry about all this - oh won’t it be wonderful to be totally done with college applications - and I wish you the best of luck! :)

I’m not sure what the teacher is supposed to do, but they told me that they received the emails and followed the instructions.

I already asked one of my teachers twice and she said she’ll check, but I didn’t ask the other teacher yet. Do you recommend I just send hard copies of the recommendations to the school?
