Hi, I'm a soon to be senior in high school, and I have a question about scheduling. I am interested in a school that does not require SAT Subject tests for early decision.I have for the SAT M-700 V-700 and W-660 and for the ACT a 31. However, I also have taken one subject test, a 620 on Math IC. Is it in my best interest to take the SAT and ACT over before the early decision deadline, and then take subject tests in january for the other schools, or retake the SAT in october and then in november retake the subject tests? Will leaving that one awful subject test grade by itself look horrible even if I score much higher on both the SAT and the ACT? thanks a lot for all your help.

It really depends on the schools you're applying to.

Regardless, if your ED school does not consider subject tests, then don't worry about it for your ED school. If your SAT and ACT are in a good range for your ED school, then you don't need to retake them. If they're on the lower end, it might be a good idea to retake.

Of course, most other schools RD deadline is around end of December/beginning of January. If that's the case, and you think you might be deferred/rejected from your ED school, taking some more SAT subject tests in november (before the deadline) would be a good idea. That'll make you look better to the other schools.
