(for the purpose of the thread assume that im intelligent but ignorant as to the subject:my apologies if i break any thread rules, im in a hurry and if youll bring it to my attention then ill remember next time...)

first of all ive wanted to ask how to obtain a copy of my transcipt that "I" can use as a mastyer copy to give out myself (i dont want my school to mail them for several reasons: im not going to list them now as im in a hurry but if anyon wants to know i can repost)
i wanted to know if there was some way to do that personally without arousing any suspicion of forgery etc...

my logic is thus
"when you graduate from hs and decide to take time off, you end up having to send out your transcript finale yourself, so there does exist a process...i just want to know what that is"

i mean itd seem conspicuos to send a letter that says "by the way , this is real"
thatd just seem odd

so if anyone knows what im talking about and could clarify for me, then thanks in advance

let me know if you need anything else

Request official transcripts placed in sealed envelopes and stamped with the school's stamp over the sealed edge.

Your school will have copies of your transcript after you graduate. The transcripts that colleges get must be official as described in the above post.

i love my unofficial transcripts.

they stamp it with "UNOFFICIAL" like 3.00x10^8 times.

see , i knew you could do something of that sort
its just that the offices have been so uncooperative with me lately that i havent been able to get anything out of them
ill do just that , request the sealed copies and mail them personally to their destination
thanks man, i probably would have been oblivious otherwise

You don't actually have a copy of your transcript right now, right? When a student takes a gap year, he already has his final transcript when he applies, and because he's no longer a student, it doesn't get sent through the school. What I did was to make copies of my transcript, get the school to stamp and sign it as a certified true copy, and send it to the schools myself. Most schools will accept this, but if I recall Cornell requires the transcript come directly from the school, not through the student.

If you're still in high school, I don't know how that works out.

I'm an international though, so it's slightly different anyway, and they're probably less insistent that transcripts come from counselors (because most of us have no counselors). But that's how it's normally done.

Schools typically stamp such transcripts as "released to student." Ergo, most schools won't accept them.

I believe this was special because you are an international student. I believe high school records are kept a minimum of 5 years if not forever. Transcripts should come directly from your school.

i understand
i assumed it would look more professional to have the school send it
it was just that ...
a-i dont trust the conselour to send it off...but i guess im just a pessimist like that
b-i dont really like the idea of other people handling my stuff like that at their leisure...it makes me feel incompotent

but digress aside, youve all a point, it would be considerably easier to get them to do the work for me , albeit taking considerably longer as well
