Question on Transfer Application

I am sorry if this is an extremely stupid question, but when the Transfer Application asks "Degree Candidate?" for colleges at which we have taken courses for credit, does this mean only a school that we have attended in order to attain a degree (ie- an institution we attended to obtain a BS would be "yes", even if we're only in our freshman year; versus one we took one or two courses from during high school would be "no")?

Once again, I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but thank you in advance for how this is to be interpreted.

-seth

haha it's not a stupid question at all. at least not to me... i have no idea.

Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only person who is not quite sure exactly what the college is interested in with this question!

Yes -

EG, my son attended Tulane as a degree candidate. So he checked the "yes" box for that school, even though it was only two terms. And obviously he never got a degree there (or even close) as they phased out his program after Katrina, necessitating the transfer.

He attended a LAC during his "Katrina" semester. So he did not check Degree Candidate for that school, but of course listed the school and submitted a transcript from it.

He also took a course at a community college during high school and, again, checked "No" re Degree candidate for that school. Some schools wanted a transcript even for this course; some didn't since it showed up on his hs transcript.

All right, thank you for the clarification.
