Im currently a HS senior that lives in GA, i have a good GPA and course rigor, but i still dont think i am going to get accepted into Tech, so i was wondering would transferring from GA state be a wise decision, because i also need to maintain my HOPE scholarship, and i fear that by going to tech my first couple of years ill lose it

I plan on getting a CS major, staying at GA state for 2 years then transferring over to GA tech to get my BA degree, since my credits would switch over, would i still get my degree in 4 years or would it take longer ?

**Also if i get accepted into tech and decide to attend GA state, when i transfer over, will they look at that and decide to deny for not going the first time.

If you don’t get into Tech, it’s a great option.

GT offers a BS in CS. BS and BA degrees are very different. At GSU, you want to pursue a BS.

Not all credits will transfer. In fact, the majority of classes at GSU don’t transfer to GT or only transfer as free electives. You need to be very careful about the courses you take at GSU (see below).

If you’re smart about it, then yes you can graduate in 4 years.

Do that for 1 year at GSU, then apply to GT for the following year (it usually takes 2 semesters to transfer after you apply). Then you’ll start off at GT in your 3rd year with 60+ hours and you’ll be on track to graduate in 4 years.

Again, it’s a great option that really works out for many people. I don’t really like the idea of starting at GSU if you’re accepted to Tech for a variety of reasons, but that’s personal opinion.

that was extremely helpful, thank you, i think im going to decide on staying at state then maybe transferring, well cross that bridge once i get there, thank you so much
