Hi, I am a high school student taking courses at city college of san francisco during the fall for credit. I am admitted as a special high school student. WIll the credits/units I earn from this course count as a transfer for UCB or does only the freshman and sophomore courses at city college count? Im trying to get a lead on my classes so I can transfer out in 1 year.

they count

yeah they count....i did took a course at my local cc during the summer between my frosh and soph year in hs; the grade i received counted and the course credit transfered, so don't mess up in the class. you get designated as an "advanced ed" student or something when you do that, but there is no distinction on your transcript....you will have to explain the gap that will occur in your cc education on your UC app though.

The course transfers, but the units do not count toward your unit limit.

So what's the point? So I dont get any units for taking that if I wanna transfer?

The units do not count at your next university toward their imposed unit limitation (it's a good thing). As far as I know, they count for the 60 units you need to transfer, though.

He said they do not count toward your unit LIMIT- not unit MINIMUM. There is a difference.

Wow that's pretty beneficial huh?
